If you know anything about Greek food, than you’ve already seen and been obsessed with their Tzatziki Sauce.
A simple yogurt dip made with shredded cucumbers, red wine vinegar, garlic, salt, and olive oil, this tzatziki is so easy and will become a staple in your condiment arsenal.
Tzatziki Sauce Ingredients
Here’s what you need to make this easy dip:
Greek yogurt: I use Chobani Whole Milk Greek Yogurt for my tzatziki.
Cucumbers: Shredded and pressed.
Garlic: A little goes a long way here!
Red wine vinegar: I’ve tried this with lemon juice as well, but once I figured out from some Greek friends that red wine vinegar is the acid that should be used here, the dip totally came together.
Fresh dill: Chopped.
Salt: To bring it all together.
How to Make Tzatziki Sauce
This is literally so simple you’ll never buy store-bought again.
Step 1: Prep everything.
Get everything ready to go. This includes pressing your garlic, chopping your dill and shredding your cucumber.
To get the best shredded cucumbers, I use my KitchenAid’s shredder attachment here, but you can also shred your cucumbers by hand with a grater. Once shredded, I put my cucumber in some paper towels and gently press to get any excess moisture out.
Step 2: Make the tzatziki!
Now combine the yogurt with the olive oil, cucumbers, dill, red wine vinegar, and salt. Stir and taste to see if you prefer a little extra of anything and enjoy!
