Hi, I’m Dee!
I’m just a girl from Queens, NY who grew up appreciating the meaning of Sunday Dinner at my grandparent’s house.
Home cooking is something that’s been a part of every great moment in my life: Christmas Eve always meant a lot of fish (and a lobster bisque that I still dream about), Good Friday meant the women were getting together at my Aunt Shelly’s house to make 80+ Italian Easter Pies (or pizzagaina) and Sunday meant I was sharing a bowl of simmering sauce and some bread with my grandfather (that we smuggled when my grandmother wasn’t looking).
When you come from an Italian-American family, that means good food is ingrained in your soul in ways that weave emotion in to each meal you have — and so that’s exactly what this website is: A love letter to my family.
