These Crostini are the perfect base for your favorite toppings. Italian baguette is sliced, drizzled with olive oil, seasoned, and toasted to golden perfection.
Italian for “toast”, Crostini are typically small, thin slices of Italian bread that are brushed with olive oil and lightly toasted.
They’re widely used for appetizers, either on the side of an antipasto (or charcuterie board) for guests to dress as they please, or pre-dressed with a variety of toppings, like a classic bruschetta.

I use an Italian Baguette to make my crostini, but any baguette will do.
When cutting the baguette for your crostini, cut the slices on an angle about ½ inch thick.
Here’s what you’ll need to make these simple crostini:
Italian baguette: Sliced on an angle about ½ inch thick.
Extra virgin olive oil: Can sub regular olive oil if needed.
Kosher salt & pepper: For seasoning.
Garlic clove: Optional but recommended.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Cut the baguette into little toasts, on an angle, and about ½ inch thick. Lay them out on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.
Gently brush the olive oil on each crostini.
Once you’ve added the olive oil, sprinkle kosher salt and pepper on each crostini. Then flip them over and repeat the olive oil, salt, and pepper on the other side.
Let the crostini bake for 10 minutes. Then remove the tray, flip each crostini, and bake an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the crostini are beautifully golden.
Once the crostini are slightly cooled, gently rub a garlic clove over each one.
Top with your favorite toppings and enjoy!
