Caramelized Red Onions

These sweet and jam-like caramelized onions and perfect for topping burgers, sandwiches or anything else you can dream up.

Ingredients

  • 5 red onions sliced ½ inch thick
  • 2 tbs worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbs olive oil
  • 1 tbs sugar
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

  • Add everything to a skillet with high sides. Cook over medium high heat, stirring continuously, until onions begin to soften. About 10 minutes.
  • Turn the heat to low and let slowly cook for about 45 minutes to 1 house. Let onions stick a bit to brown, and then stir. Add a splash of water if things are drying up. Once at your desired consistency, remove from heat and proceed with whatever recipe you need them for.
