Caprese Flatbread Pizza with Prosciutto

This easy caprese flatbread pizza is perfect for a simple, delicious appetizer that always hits the spot.

Equipment

  • 1 Pizza stone

Ingredients

  • 1 batch of my flatbread dough makes 2 flatbread pizzas
  • 1 lb fresh mozzarella sliced
  • 2 tomatoes sliced
  • 1 cup basil pesto
  • 4 slices prosciutto torn
  • balsamic glaze for topping
  • fresh basil for topping

Instructions

  • Preheat pizza stone for 45 minutes at 550 degrees F. Lower to 450 when you're about to build your flatbread.
  • Add parchment paper to a pizza peel. Roll out one dough at a time to make an oval. Add to the pizza peel and top with basil pesto, mozzarella, tomatoes and prosciutto.
  • Transfer flatbread to the pizza stone and bake for 18–20 minutes or until toppings are done. (Time will be shorter if using store-bought pre-cooked flatbread.)
  • Remove flatbread and top with more basil pesto, balsamic glaze and fresh basil.
