Servings: 4 people
1 8x8 square pan
parchment paper
- 2 apples, halved and cored
- ½ stick unsalted butter melted
- ½ cup old-fashioned oats
- ¼ cup AP flour
- ¾ cup packed brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- ⅛ teaspoon baking powder
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and line a 8x8 baking pan with parchment paper. Add the halved and cored apples to the pan (you can slice off a tiny portion of the back if they're rolling around too much)
Mix together everything for the topping, and use your hands to stuff them into the apples, making sure to get plenty on top.
Cover with aluminum foil and bake in the oven for 20 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 20 minutes, or until the apple has softened and the top has browned.
Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, drizzled with caramel and topped with cinnamon.
